HAUL+SWATCH: Mac Cinderella Collection

I thought it would be useful to upload this post before the Mac Cinderella collection comes out in stores this week (I think the 13th, here in the UK). Hopefully you ladies who are hoping to buy something can get a clearer idea. I'll be including swatches of the Stroke of Midnight eyeshadow palette I got and the lipstick in Royal Ball. Here they are..
Harrods exclusively launched the collection in their store on the 6th of March, so I went, hoping the two things I really wanted were still in stock! Luckily they were! Yay meeee!

The collection is very neautral, obviously following the Cinderella theme. I had second thoughts about the lipstick over an over again, but I just couldn't resist the packaging! Many people have said it looks a bit tacky. But I think it's really pretty. It's pale blue, an in person you can see it has a sort of pinky/purpley irredecesnt sheen to it which is so unique an follows the whole princess theme, this isn't something that is really obvious in pictures which is why I think a lot of people think the packaging isn't as amazing.  The insides of the boxes are also really pretty. Their gold and not like the standard Mac boxes.

I believe both the lipsticks in the collection are lustre finishes - which I hate unfortunately. I don't own any lustres because I just don't like the feeling on my lips an the finish isn't something I like in my lipsticks, but I stil bought Royal Ball because like everyone else, I'm a sucker for packaging. As you can see from the images below, the lipstick is a neautral, everyday nude pink shade. It works best with a lipliner an makes me look like a ghost if I wear it without anything. I got this because of the pinky tones to it, the other one is waaaay to nude an would wash me out completely!
The picture on the left is with flash, and the right under natural lighting.
Next I picked up the eyeshadow palette which a lot of people wanted! It contains 6 shadows, 5 of which are permanant and the darkest shade is limited edition. I don't own any Mac eyeshadows so I really wanted to try this out. It's a very small palette which is another reason I wanted it. Its ideal for carrying around with you for holidays etc. The colours are beautiful an can create both neautral day time looks as well as more intense evening looks because it has the dark colour! So I love it because it's super versatile.

The top swatch images are under natural lighting. The one underneath is also under natural sunlight but much closer to the window. I thought it'd be useful to see the colours in all possible lighting.

*The lipstick retails for £17
*The eyeshadow palette retails for £38.50
